Collins’ Maple Cringle Recipe

The Collins’ Maple Cringle puts a little spin on an old favorite. These soft, chewy cookies have a subtle maple flavor that is sure to keep you coming back for more!

Ingredients:
¾ cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 ¼ cup flour
¼ cup salt
2 tsp baking soda
½ tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ cup white sugar

Directions: 

Put a ¼ cup of sugar in a small bowl and set aside.  In a large bowl beat shortening, sugar, egg, and maple syrup together. In a medium bowl mix all dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to sugar, shortening, etc. Form balls by rounded tablespoons and roll the balls through the sugar to coat them. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, pat down balls slightly with a wet hand, and cook for 9 minutes at 350°.
